🛰️Alaknanda: The Shockingly Early Milky Way Twin Revealed by JWST #sciencefather #researcher #annawards #jwst #nasa

Astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope have uncovered Alaknanda, a fully developed spiral galaxy that formed just 1.5 billion years after the Big Bang. With a bright bulge, stable rotating disk, and sweeping spiral arms, this galaxy looks surprisingly mature for such an early cosmic era. Magnified by the Abell 2744 cluster, Alaknanda challenges long-standing theories of galaxy formation, showing that massive and orderly spiral structures emerged far earlier and more efficiently than scientists once believed.
